Students in the Academic Career Experience (ACE) program recently participated in the Dress for Success event, where they were given a budget of $130 to shop for professional clothing at Dillard’s.
This opportunity allowed students to select attire that will help them feel confident and prepared for future academic and career opportunities.
The event was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Nusenda Credit Union and the continued support of Dillard’s and the Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation, whose partnership helped make this experience a success for our students.

The Unified Therapeutic Recreation Sweetheart Dance brought together middle and high school students from special programs, creating a shared space for connection, celebration, and fun.
Throughout the school year, students work on developing their socialization skills, and events like this give them a fun and welcoming environment to practice those skills in a real-world setting.
For many of the students, the moment they walk into the room and hear the music playing, their faces light up. Even students who communicate differently can connect and express themselves through music, movement, and the comfort of familiar faces.
This dance is more than just a party it’s a social experience that promotes confidence, participation, and joy in recreation and leisure activities.
A big thank you to all of our wonderful special education teachers and staff, and to Sierra Middle School for hosting the event.

This event gives students a space to express who they are and celebrate their culture through the arts. From dance performances to personal stories, students share the traditions, identities, and experiences that shape them.
More than anything, ENLACE provides a safe and supportive platform where students can embrace their heritage, be proud of who they are, and have their voices heard.

To kick off the celebration, we’re highlighting the incredible community involvement in our schools.
The team from Leadership Las Cruces joined staff from Las Cruces Public Schools to tour several of our Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. At Las Cruces High School, they toured Bulldawgs Blooms, our student-run flower shop, and even made their own bouquets. They visited welding classes to see students showcase their skills.
At Rio Grande Preparatory Institute, students led tours of culinary and construction classes. The visit wrapped up with history presentations from freshman honors students across all high schools.
Partnerships like these help our community leaders see how they can support the next generation of Las Cruces leaders!
Pre-K–12 public, private, and tribal schools across New Mexico can apply for up to $1,000 to support STEM-related expenses through the National Lieutenant Governors Association 2026 Lt. Governors’ STEM Scholarship Program.

The heartbeat of Las Cruces Public Schools isn’t just found in our classrooms, it’s felt the moment you walk through our doors.
These incredible professionals are the friendly faces who welcome you into our vibrant schools and buildings each day. They are the organizers, planners, schedulers, problem-solvers, and quiet champions working tirelessly behind the scenes to support students, staff, and families. Their dedication keeps everything moving forward, often without fanfare, but always with heart.
Today at the 2026 LCPS Office Professionals Conference, the legendary professional speaker Maureen G. Mulvaney delivered an electrifying presentation that energized the room and won the hearts of our amazing team. Her powerful message sparked meaningful conversations, inspired fresh perspectives, and reminded us all of the profound impact our office professionals make every single day.
Their work is more than a job, it’s the foundation of connection, care, and excellence across our district.
Because of them, we ALL Thrive in the 575.
